Radiant Ripple

 Radiant Ripple

A gentle ray of light possesses the transformative power to alter one's perspective, particularly when intertwined with the captivating beauty of rain. As the dispeller of darkness, light takes on a unique quality when it mingles with raindrops, creating a mesmerizing phenomenon known as the circle of confusion. This subtle play of nature enhances creativity and fosters an enchanting appreciation for the dance between rain and light.

In this ethereal interplay, the tiny raindrops introduce a hazy quality, casting a circle of light that captivates the observer's imagination. This beautiful marriage of rain and light becomes a testament to the ever-changing shapes orchestrated by nature, prompting a profound love for the diverse expressions encapsulated in the seasons.

The circle of confusion, formed as raindrops gently obscure clarity, is a captivating spectacle that invites viewers to delve into the realm of creativity. Nature's artistic play, exemplified by this dance between rain and light, has the power to kindle a deep affection for the dynamic and transient nature of existence.

Moreover, the symbolism of calmness and relaxation is inherent in the auditory experience of rain. The rhythmic patter of raindrops creates a soothing ambiance, fostering tranquility that positively influences mood and alleviates stress. As tears of rain fall, they symbolically wash away the inner darkness within us, a process mirrored by the gentle lights in the background of my painting. This visual representation encapsulates the profound journey from emotional release to the elimination of internal shadows.

Additionally, rain serves as an inspirational muse, encouraging introspection and imaginative pursuits. The cozy and contemplative atmosphere of a rainy day becomes a catalyst for creative thought, inviting individuals to explore the depths of their inner worlds. This harmonious fusion of rain, light, and creativity, depicted in my painting, captures the essence of the symbiotic relationship between the elements and the human spirit.

Enlightened energy

 Enlightened energy

In Hindu literature, the concept of Panchaboothas, or the five elemental energies, is deeply ingrained. These energies, derived from Space/Sky, Air, Water, Fire, and Earth, are believed to constitute the essence of all living organisms. According to this perspective, the eternal soul radiates energy from its original source, and the human body, as a vessel for this pure energy, has the capacity to both receive and radiate it.

Each elemental energy is associated with specific qualities:

Earth: Linked to stability, grounding, and material aspects of life, it is intertwined with the physical body, abundance, and the natural world.

Water: Symbolizing emotions, intuition, and the subconscious, water is connected to purification, healing, and adaptability.

Air: Representing intellect, communication, and the realm of thought, air is associated with clarity, inspiration, and the powers of the mind.

Fire: Symbolizing energy, passion, and transformation, fire is often linked to creativity, willpower, and the spark of life.

Space/Sky: Considered the fifth element, representing the divine, the transcendent, or the connection between all things, it is more abstract and signifies the spiritual realm.

The concept of karma, or the consequences of one's actions, plays a crucial role. Past deeds influence our present existence and living conditions. The purity of our energy can be enhanced by focusing on virtuous deeds, such as helping others, performing tasks without causing harm, and respecting the right of all beings to live in this world.

The guiding force within us, irrespective of external circumstances, continually directs us along the right path. However, our lack of clarity may lead us astray. The unseen forces persistently endeavor to guide us, and with focused attention and reverence for our bodies and senses, we can align ourselves with the forces of nature.

The painting "Enlightened Energy" is a visual representation of these concepts, reflecting the interplay of elemental energies, the pursuit of purity, and the symbolic illumination of knowledge dispelling ignorance, much like the floating lamps on water during Hindu rituals.

Painted perspectives

Painted Perspectives

In our present world people try not to become old rather not to look old. Abundance of technology to shape the body and chemicals to stop aging are gaining popularity.

Why should we stop ageing? Is ageing bad?

Old is gold. Absolutely it's the perspective of the society that requires change. The current society started viewing and treating old people with negative eyes. Do we have to do that? Wisdom and Experience comes with age. Wealth of life experience and wisdom, abundance of knowledge experienced as well as learnt can be shared with younger generations. This knowledge can be valuable for personal growth , problem-solving and to lead a life with guidance.

It is seen that the older individuals  have more time towards family as they strengthen their relationships with family members and friends, leading to deeper connections. The pressures of career and raising a family may decrease in old age, leading to reduce stress levels too.

Society now a days hold negative stereotypes and misconceptions about older people, which often lead to ageism and discrimination.

Due to ageing older individuals are often dependent, on the family. It is expected that younger generation are supposed to take care of them but rather they are left alone to take care of themselves. People assume that older individuals cannot be technologically updated this is rather a misconception.

Loneliness and social isolation can be issues for some older individuals, which is rather genuine as they are left alone by their children. They ignore their parents as they are perceived to have mental decline , resistance to change and physical frailty but older individuals have a wide range of abilities, experiences, and contributions to offer, and a more inclusive and respectful attitude toward aging can benefit society as a whole.

Lets us change the negative perceptions. Let the tag line resonate in young minds that Old is gold to see goodness in ageing and old people.

Women's greatest Enemy

Women's Greatest Enemy- ( Existing stereotypes)

India is a country which has tolerance to accept diversities in language, culture, traditions and so on. When we read the sacred texts we come across lines about how women were treated in ancient India? Women were considered as goddess and not a mere object of amusement. I am not taking Feminism here but rather trying to prove a fact that the greatest enemy of a women is not man, but rather women. Yes, its true.

Confused! its women who gives birth and continues to make an effort not to break the ancestral link; to a new born child the values, believes, systems, traditions etc. are all  taught by both his/her parents. If women undermine and treats her own child based on superstitious ideologies and believes then; tell me who is her true Enemy? His/her own mother/Parents?

Boys are given education and respect in our society irrespective of  how they perform, he is assumed to be the one and only supporting pillar of the family. Is it?  Boys in their young age have been watching/ observing his mother working hard at home taking care of the needs put forward by the in-laws, husband, co-sisters etc. What they see is what they learn. Ultimately its the belief that, women are meant to work at home. Her educational qualifications are not even considered or valued.

First and foremost,  in a joint family who is the deciding authority? Answer is quite simple its the Mother- In- law ( who is supposed to behave like a mother). Oh yes! even her husband (Father-in-law) will not utter a single word against her will. The typical dialogue would be; I have done enough to my son and husband; its time that a wife /daughter-in-law should manage the house, just the way I did.

Secondly, the first born should be a boy child. Hello! are you even aware of the fact that the male cells (sperms) are responsible for determining the gender of the child? Who is to be blamed at the end of the day if she doesn't give birth to a boy child. Obviously! its the daughter- in- law. Come on!! what if she doesn't conceive?  Bhoom! its again daughter-in laws fault. "An easy prey who can be blamed for anything and everything".

Who is the first to blame another women?  Its Women ,women, women and women alone. (relatives, neighbors). Who is the culprit who supports to all these wrong deeds; again its a Women. Its like a Chakravyuham.

Third- Mother teachers a girl child about the family responsibilities ( cooking, cleaning, taking care of children), the respectful behavior towards elders, enduring pain, how to hide ones feelings and desires etc, from a very young age. It doesn't even matter for her own mother nor to others if she goes through hell of a life. There is no point in adding a question here as the answer is evident- its her fate, she needs to endure and live on, it doesn't even matter if she lives or dies; she has done a great deal of sin in her past life.

Can't a mother save her own daughter from this scenario? Yes, teach a boy child and other siblings about being united and helping each other when in need. Impart the essential values, believes which are essential for a happy living. Tutor them to compromise; instruct them to share responsibilities and to value everyone irrespective of their age or gender.

Women needs to support of other women rather than trying to undermine her. Things are changing as most of them are educated, due to consistent efforts and success gained by women in multiple professions, she lives a life with dignity and self respect. But greater good and change is yet to be implemented to make her lifestyle an living paradise.

Can we end this? The initiative starts from you? No. This change should start from me. A women who supports others in their decisions, giving an opportunity for my kids to comprehend the value of respecting girls/women. Making them experience the path lead by a women. Convey the essence of giving respect, support, space and to value a women's thoughts and actions in a right way. Dismiss/ burry the old conventional assumptions, measures and superstitious endeavors. Proving a platform to prove themselves.

Its time to implement the change rather than following a wrong path. Our mother nature keeps giving us no matter how much we take from her. Lets educate and adopt value based education for boys especially to other women who needs to preserve and contribute their best to conserve her beauty and elegance.

Illness stops when you stop

 Illness stops when you stop.

I need answers you fool, you are making things worse. Is it lack of awareness? Or lack of intelligence to understand the existing state and facts?

People say- “No matter what; I am going out. I need my life back, as I am least bothered to listen to the alert messages and notice and act upon it. I cannot sit at home and who is going to? ”. How can you say that? Do you even realize the current situation; I regret to say this, people lives are at stake!

What will you achieve? What will you accomplish? You are nothing but a burden and a nuisance to the others, community and even to the nation. You are about to ruin the lives of individuals, who are leading their lives peacefully.

Is it a trick? Or fun play? ; Which will put others lives in danger. How can I make you understand? How can I guide you? When you are not ready to pay attention, to what I say. Will you listen?

Do you find happiness when others suffer? Do you care for others? The misery brought upon others will definitely bring melancholy and nothing else. Do you want it to happen?

It’s nothing but the foolishness and the stupidity which endangers the lives of people, who cares for you. Do not make a scene, where you fall ill and transmit the illness to the people around you.

Comprehend, appreciate and pay attention to the circumstances and events. If you don’t; mankind does not have any option, rather to prepare for the worst, which advanced just because of you. Be a creator and not a destroyer. Let the world see and sense bliss and not despair.

When volcano erupts, it destroys whatever comes in its path; its blazing heat can be felt, even from a distance but when it touches the water body it cools down and doesn't cause any further harm to any living creature. Don’t be a destroyer of mankind rather be a hero; who cares for humanity. So act wisely.

Time for Realization

 Time for Realization

Human life were people are driven away from their loved ones, a scenario were human life is just like a mere dust particle which travels in the air without any destination; a scenario where human race needs to realize the power and anger felt by the mother nature, for destroying her ruthlessly without any mercy; when she pleaded to be left alone with her sons and daughters. The never ending pain have brought a curse that fell upon the mankind who struggles to survive in the world , who have locked themselves up with fear and agony of losing their loved ones, who are never to be seen in after. Their last breaths are never felt nor sensed; not even a warm tear gushing out of their near and dear. It is so heartbreaking , not see them as they depart from this very earthly existence, just as if they are buried in the catacombs , only difference which can be clearly understood is that the people hidden are not saints but diseased ;who have lost everything including their identity; who are never to be seen nor recognized again. Such pain pierces every living soul, living in this earth, then why such differences?  Differences in opinions, believes, notions, and what not. It’s time to leave them and break the shackles and unite the thoughts and actions which will save humanity from this epidemic.

Blind Culture

Culture is created

For the past many decades evolution in culture is stirring and we the individuals of the society hardly perceive the transformation. Many rituals, customs and traditions have under gone change without our knowledge. We have adopted many foreign cultures, as we live in a society where people belong to different caste, religion, language and so on. People never realize the actuality or the inner importance hidden in the culture. We are all blind believers, blindly following what our parents and ancestors passed on.

Realization and questioning the traditions and customs simply means you are not a true supporter. It’s always tolerable to bring change but never acceptable to answer the quires hidden in them, as the present generation are badly informed about what they actually meant. People are impolite if questioned about that they are doing? The answer which we get is; this is how we need to do and no more questions. The current impolite and erroneous approach will never supply fresh nutrients to the culture rather adds poison which eats it from the roots. Adults and elderly individuals simply pass on what they know or learnt or herd. Its completely wrong. I have a very good example to quote here.

In India we celebrate Pongal in the month of January, it is celebrated by the framers( farming community); who offer their first harvest to the sun god and lord Indira such as Sugar cane, turmeric and  rice. It is celebrated for  4 days. Ist day it’s the Bhogi festival, Second day is Thai Pongal; the Third day is called Mattu Pongal; the Fourth day it is called Kaanu Pongal. During this month unmarried girls observe penance for the prosperity of the agricultural crops they restrain themselves from having dairy products and do not oil their hair for the whole month. Cattle’s are considered as god and they are fed with delicious food. Old objects are discarded and burnt to welcome new items. This was how it was done before, but now we do not depend on farming. We live in cities and consume food produced by farmers and well packed food from food processing industries. Still we celebrate Pongal that too in a new and convenient way; instead of providing freshly harvested rice and sprouts, we simply provide the rice that we consume which is old; just for their satisfaction people worship sun god and offer sweet desert which is made of rice, dal and jaggery . People never accept this, still they argue it’s our custom and tradition, we have to celebrate. People instead to discarding old things they  burn old files, newspapers and other discarded things.

In India Cow is considered to be sacred and is regarded as god, but yet few of the Hindu community worship as well slaughter and eat cow. Does it make any sense?
On the other hand decorating  the entrance of the house with Rangoli is considered as invitation to goddess lakshmi who brings prosperity and richness .With freshly ground rice power were various  hues are mixed to it; are laid on the floor in geometric patterns and shapes. During olden days the houses were built with mud and hay and doors were made of palm leaves, it was not easy to keep the ants away from consuming the food items, so people began laying grounded rice powder outside the house to prevent ants from eating the prepared food, the freshly powdered rice has sweet taste and that attracted ants. But what are we doing now, draw random designs using chalk!

To prevent bacteria and other infections from entering the house people began washing their hands and legs before entering the house; they also applied turmeric in the entrance to stop the entry of microorganisms, as it has antibacterial properties. But now people paint the entrance with yellow paint, what does it has to do with antibacterial properties as that of turmeric? We blindly follow these customs and traditions and we do it for the sake of doing.

Here I have quoted very few examples but there are many which needs clarification and attention.

We are losing our culture; ignorance and lack of awareness is the greatest curse for the existing customs and traditions. Let’s not lose the value of our culture; comprehend and wipe away the ignorance to shed light to future generations and to preserve its worth.
