Is Women a mere Puppet

Is Women a mere Puppet

I happened to draw a picture based on the theme women and society. Myself and my husband were at Delhi at that time. The hot news which spread during that time was the Delhi rape case, when a 23-year-old female physiotherapy intern was beaten and gang raped in a private bus in which she was travelling with a male friend. There were six other people travelling in the bus, including the driver, all of them raped the woman. She was severely injured, as a 16 year old among those who raped her used a rod to sexually assault her. Shocking news spread all over the world.

Everyone prayed for her soul, but as of now the situation still continues in India. Even now it’s difficult for a woman to travel even in train with police security. Alas, strict measures are not being taken to ensure better safety. It’s a shame that neither a new born child nor elderly women are safe.

In my painting “I visualized woman as a puppet who is bounded by the strings of rapists. Not all of them are so bold to come out of the physical as well as the mental torture they go through. The other important aspects, men are pictured as fingers that hold the sting tight. I also drew the means in which women are harassed like ship (trading), internet. The dark red background explains the terror and the bloodshed”.

Women

“Women and Society"- do u recognize me? It’s me a mere women who gave birth to a new “life”. I have several roles in the society, as a daughter, a mother, a sister, a friend and as a wife.  Alas with the spiking level of testosterone's all around us, we have been tormented to the core.  I am sold, agonized physically and mentally & my abuse creates pleasurable moments for many. Am I a puppet? This query of mine needs to be answered NOW or NEVER.

To conclude I would say that strict laws should be enacted to protect women and children to punish those who commit crimes like “Rape”.
